HILTON HEAD, S.C. – The UW-Stevens Point women's tennis team was defeated 9-0 by Northwood University on Tuesday afternoon.
Box ScoreNorthwood (16-2) lost four games in the three doubles matches and one game in the six singles matches to defeat UW-Stevens Point (5-9). The first doubles pairing of
Katelyn Asfeld (Waukesha, WI/Waukesha West) and
Erin Lemmer (Wausau, WI/Wausau East) accounted for three of the four games UWSP won in doubles, falling 8-3.
Sammy Gengler and Nicole Thorson were defeated 8-1 at the third spot. Asfeld was the lone Pointers' player to register a game in singles, falling 6-0, 6-1 at first singles.
UW-Stevens Point continues its matches in Hilton Head against Edgewood College on Wednesday, March 18 at 5 p.m. EST.
