Katelyn Asfeld (Waukesha, WI/Waukesha West) picked up a win at No. 1 singles and
Abbey Johnson (Black River Falls, WI/Black River Falls) and
Jordan Tyjeski (Beaver Dam, WI/Beaver Dam) earned a victory at No. 3 doubles but the UW-Stevens Point women's tennis team lost 7-2 to Carroll University on Sunday afternoon.
Box Score Asfeld topped Megan Krzewinski at the top singles spot 6-4, 6-3 for her third victory of the season for UW-Stevens Point (3-7). Johnson and Tyjeski went to a tiebreak in their match at third doubles but did not drop a point in the tiebreak to win 9-8 (0).
Carroll (10-3) got 8-4 and 8-0 wins at the top two doubles positions and five straight-set singles victories. Carroll's Lauren Miketinac edged
Emily Kleist (Muskego, WI/Muskego) 7-5, 7-6 (3) in the closest singles match of the afternoon at second singles.
UW-Stevens Point is back in action with a conference match at UW-Stout on Friday, Oct. 9 at 3 p.m.
