Hillary Drake (Mosinee, WI/Mosinee) posted her first shutout of the season as the sixth-ranked UW-Stevens Point women's hockey team blanked UW-Eau Claire 4-0 on Saturday afternoon at Ice Hawks Arena.

In her third start of the season, Drake needed to make just 13 saves for the Pointers (15-4-2, 7-2-1 WIAC). The win completed a four-game sweep of the season series against the Blugolds (4-17-2, 0-9-1 WIAC).
Allie Tanzer (Chippewa Falls, WI/Chippewa Falls),
Emily Lester (Eau Claire, WI/Memorial),
Rachel Reynard (Hortonville, WI/Hortonville) and
Cassandra Salmen (Stillwater, MN/Stillwater) all netted goals for UWSP in the shutout win. Salmen posted her second three-point game in the last six games to lead the way offensively for the Pointers.
On Senior Day, Tanzer got the scoring started just 26 seconds into the game with her eighth goal of the season. Tanzer's goal came off assists from seniors Salmen and
Janel Winters (Fairbanks, AK/West Valley).
The two teams then played nearly two full periods before the next goal, which came from Lester with 20 seconds left in the second.
Katherine Nejedlo (Fond du Lac, WI/Fond du Lac) and
Megan Nickelson (North St. Paul, MN/North) earned assists on UWSP's second goal.
UW-Stevens Point outshot UW-Eau Claire 21-6 in the first two periods and put the game out of reach in the third.
Rachel Reynard (Hortonville, WI/Hortonville) scored off a feed from Salmen at 6:26 before Salmen added a goal to her two assists. Lester earned her second point of the game with an assist on Salmen's goal, giving her five multi-point games this season.
The final shot tally was 31-13 in favor of UW-Stevens Point. The Pointers were 1-for-4 on the power play and killed off both of UWEC's opportunities with the extra skater.
The win keeps UW-Stevens Point one point ahead of UW-River Falls atop the WIAC standings after the Falcons topped UW-Superior 3-2.
The Pointers take on Lake Forest on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at Ice Hawks Arena in a non-conference game.
