Box Score SUPERIOR, Wis. – For the second night in a row, the sixth-ranked UW-Stevens Point women's hockey team tied seventh-ranked UW-Superior as the two teams played to a 2-2 tie on Saturday afternoon at Westman Arena.

UW-Superior (14-4-6, 4-4-4 WIAC) led twice in the game but UW-Stevens Point (16-4-4, 7-2-3 WIAC) came back to tie the score on both occasions. Neither team could find a winning goal in overtime, as the Pointers outshot the Yellowjackets 4-1 in the extra five minutes.
Trailing 2-1 entering the third period, UW-Stevens Point scored the game's final goal at the 6:39 mark.
Betsy Anderson (Farmington, MN/Farmington) got the goal, her second of the season, unassisted.
In overtime,
Cassandra Salmen (Stillwater, MN/Stillwater) had three of her game-high 10 shots. Two the senior's attempts came on the power play but UW-Superior's Shanley Peters turned them away, as part of a 30-save performance.
After a scoreless first period, the Yellowjackets opened the scoring at 5:43 of the second period on a goal by Hayley Epema.
Emily Lester (Eau Claire, WI/Memorial)'s sixth goal of the season tied the score at 1-1 a little over a minute later but Hailey Adair's power-play goal gave UW-Superior the lead again.
The Pointers outshot the Yellowjackets 32-28 in the game, including 18-7 in the third period and overtime.
Janna Beilke-Skoug (Madison, WI/East) made 26 saves in net for UWSP.
The tie leaves UW-Stevens Point one point ahead of UW-River Falls in the WIAC race. The Falcons have one conference game remaining against UW-Eau Claire.
UW-Stevens Point travels to Marian on Wednesday, February 19 for its final game of the regular season at 7 p.m.
