EAU CLAIRE, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point women's tennis team was defeated 9-0 by host UW-Eau Claire in a Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) match on Friday, Oct. 3 at Olson Indoor Courts.

The closest singles match came at the top spot, where UWEC's Maddie Johnson edged
Katelyn Asfeld (Waukesha, WI/Waukesha West) 7-5, 6-3. At third singles,
Hayley Schlueter (Menomonee Falls, WI/Menomonee Falls) dropped a competitive 6-3, 6-4 decision to Nicole Pothen.
Rosie Buckley (Menomonie, WI/Menomonie) and
Hannah Dexheimer (Oshkosh, WI/Oshkosh West) lost 8-3 at the third spot in the closest of the three doubles matches.
UW-Stevens Point looks to rebound on Saturday, Oct. 4 when the Pointers take on Augustana and St. Ambrose in Rock Island, Ill. UWSP plays Augustana at 10 a.m. and St. Ambrose at 2 p.m.
