Josie Johnson (Waunakee, WI/Waunakee) in the second period but fifth-ranked UW-River Falls scored late in a 1-1 tie between the two ranked teams on Saturday afternoon at Hunt Arena.

Johnson's third goal of the season came at 17:48 of the second period on assists from
Hailey Rock (Hammond, WI/Central) and
Nicole Schaub (Vadnais Heights, MN/White Bear Lake) for the Pointers (13-4-2, 5-2-1 WIAC). However, Dani Sibley scored with just under three minutes remaining for the Falcons (13-4-2, 5-2-1 WIAC) to send the game to overtime.
UWSP nearly broke the 1-1 deadlock in the final minutes but
Betsy Anderson (Farmington, MN/Farmington)'s shot came off the pipe. Anderson's shot was the final shot in regulation.
UW-River Falls outshot UW-Stevens Point 7-1 in overtime but
Janna Beilke-Skoug (Madison, WI/East) made seven of her 30 saves in the extra five minutes. The Falcons outshot the Pointers 30-20 in the game.
The game marked the eighth time this season the Pointers have held their opponents to one goal or fewer and UWSP is 6-0-2 in those games.
UW-Stevens Point heads to UW-Eau Claire on Saturday, February 1 for a 7 p.m. game against the Blugolds.
