STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point women's hockey team couldn't overcome a 4-0 deficit on Friday evening as it fell to UW-Superior, 4-2.

The Yellowjackets got the scoring started midway through the first period as Alexis Reid netted a power-play goal to take the 1-0 lead.
UW-Superior netted three goals in less than four minutes, midway through the second period ,to take the 4-0 advantage into the final period.
The Pointers made a late-game charge as
Megan Nickelson (North St. Paul, MN/North) and
Hailey Rock (Hammond, WI/Central) both found the back of the net in the third period to cut the deficit in half, 4-2.
The late surge was not enough at the Yellowjackets defense was able to hold off the Pointers.
Hillary Drake (Mosinee, WI) and
Janna Beilke-Skoug (Madison, WI/East) combined for 28 saves on the evening. Superior's Megan Leikkari picked up 22 saves in the win.
The Pointers and Yellowjackets will face off again tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 p.m. at Ice Hawks Arena.
