Box Score STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The nation's top offense reignited as the No. 3 UW-Stevens Point men's hockey team got goals from eight different players in a 9-2 non-conference win over visiting Lawrence University on Friday night at K.B. Willett Arena.

The Pointers (10-1) entered the game averaging 5.60 goals a game through ten games but had been held to eight goals in their last three contests. However, UWSP lit the lamp nine times against the Vikings (4-7-1), who recently defeated No. 4 St. Norbert.
 
Scott Henegar (Trenton, MI/Trenton) led the offensive outburst for UW-Stevens Point with a pair of goals, while Nick D'Avolio (North Riverside, IL/) tallied a goal and two assists. Garrett Ladd (Fenton, MI/Fenton), Trace Strahle (Anchorage, AK/Robert Service), Joe Kalisz (Davison, MI/Davison) and Kyle Heck (Plover, WI/SPASH) each added a goal and an assist and Alex Brooks (Grand Rapids, MI/) recorded two assists.
 
The UWSP offense got going early, scoring twice in the first ten minutes and change of the first period. Max Bobrow (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendehowa) and Scott Henegar (Trenton, MI/Trenton) were the goalscorers in the first period for the Pointers, who outshot the Vikings 46-13 in the game.
 
Three and a half minutes after the Pointers went up 2-0, Lawrence got back within a goal on a goal by Ryan Eardley. The score remained 2-1 at the first intermission but UWSP outshot Lawrence 13-4 in the opening period.
 
A trio of second-period goals gave UW-Stevens Point a comfortable cushion. Henegar's second goal came at the 4:53 mark of the second and two minutes later Ladd made it 4-1. Strahle scored the fifth UWSP goal on a one-timer from just inside the blueline that went in off the post on the power play.
 
The Pointers continued to score in the third as they added four more goals. Heck and D'Avolio each had a goal and an assist in the final 20 minutes. Lawrence's second goal was scored by Paul Zuke at 12:36, making the score 7-2 but D'Avolio answered just 17 seconds after Zuke's tally.
 
In total, 15 players had at least one point for the Pointers, who bounced back from their first loss of the season. Spencer Viele (Wildwood, MO/Lafayette) picked up his second win in two starts this season by making 11 saves. Three goalies saw action for the Vikings. Anton Olsson made 20 saves, Mattias Soderqvist kept out 17 before Peter Emery closed out the final five-plus minutes.
 
 UW-Stevens Point travels to Lake Forest to take on the Forresters on Saturday, January 4 at 7 p.m.
