Box Score STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The No. 7 UW-Stevens Point women's hockey team led early in the first period but No. 6 UW-Superior scored the last three goals of the game as the Pointers suffered their first loss of the season in a 3-1 defeat on Saturday afternoon at Ice Hawks Arena.

Shauna Bollinger (Menomonie, WI/Menomonie) got the scoring started at the 5:49 mark of the first period for the Pointers (6-1-1, 3-1-0 WIAC). Haley Olmstead, Kiara De Kezel and Lynne Larson each tallied goals for the Yellowjackets (5-1-2, 2-1-1 WIAC), who salvaged a weekend split.
Bollinger's goal was her second of the season and was assisted by
Hannah Smith (Spokane, WA/East Valley). UWSP was outshot 38-28 in the game and could not get a second goal past UWS goalie Shanley Peters, who made 27 saves.
Olmstead's power-play goal tied the score at 17:56 of the first period. De Kezel put the Yellowjackets ahead 2-1 before Larson gave UWS a two-goal lead. Both De Kezel and Larson's goals came in the second period.
Janna Beilke-Skoug (Madison, WI/East) made 35 saves in net for the Pointers, as UWSP conceded three goals or more for just the second time this season. UW-Stevens Point killed off seven of eight UW-Superior power plays in the game and only had two power-play opportunities of its own.
The Pointers face Marian at Ice Hawks Arena at 7 p.m. Last season, UWSP topped Marian 4-1 in Fond du Lac behind two goals each by Bollinger and
Emily Lester (Eau Claire, WI/Memorial).
