STEVENS POINT, Wis. – Cassandra Salmen (Stillwater, MN/Stillwater) scored the game-winner just nine seconds into overtime to give the UW-Stevens Point women's hockey team a 5-4 victory and a weekend series sweep of the No. 10 Falcons of UW-River Falls.

UW-Stevens Point remains unbeaten on the season, improving to 5-0-1 on the year and gives the team a 2-0 record in Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) action.
Senior Allie Tanzer (Chippewa Falls, WI/Chippewa Falls) scored put the Pointers in front early, scoring two goals in the first 11 minutes of the game, but the Falcons answered with a pair of second period goals, knotting the game at 2-2.
A pair of UWRF goals put the visiting Falcons in front 4-3 with just over 13 minutes remaining in the game, but freshman Meredith Ingbretson (Hayward, WI/Hayward) scored the first goal of her collegiate career with 12 minutes left in the third, knotting the score at 4-4.
From there, Janna Beilke-Skoug (Madison, WI/East) held the Falcons scoreless, forcing overtime, and setting up Salmen's game-winner just nine seconds in.
Skoug tallied 33 saves on the afternoon for the Pointers.
UW-Stevens Point returns to home ice when it hosts UW-Superior in a weekend series next Friday and Saturday, Nov. 22-23 at Ice Hawks Arena. Action Friday is slated for a 7 p.m. start.
