ST. PETER, Minn. – The UW-Stevens Point women's hockey team dropped game one of a two game series to the nation's second-ranked Gusties of Gustavus Adolphus Friday evening by a score of 7-3.

The Gusties scored three first-period goals, one short-handed, to take the 3-0 lead into the second.
Gustavus continued its scoring attack in the second, scoring two more goals to take the 5-0 lead.
UWSP refused to go away as
Hailey Rock (Hammond, WI/Central) tallied her first collegiate goal midway through the second.
The Pointers pulled within two goals of the Gusties in the third period as
Brooke Hanson (Maple Grove, MN/Maple Grove) and
Betsy Anderson (Farmington, MN/Farmington) both recorded goals, making the score 5-3.
The Gusties shut down the Pointers late game charge, scoring two more goals at the end of the third period, keeping their undefeated season alive.
Janna Beilke-Skoug (Madison, WI/East) and
Hillary Drake (Mosinee, WI/Mosinee) split time in the net recording 16 and 19 saves, respectively. Gustavus also used two goalies in the game, Hoverstad and Hibbard, who tallied a combined 13 saves.
UWSP (7-5-2, 5-3-2 NCHA) and Gustavus Adolphus (11-0, 6-0 MIAC) will face off again tomorrow afternoon at 2 p.m.
