STEVENS POINT, Wis. - The UW-Stevens Point swimming and diving teams opened the 2012 Border Battle with some strong individudal performances on both the men's and women's side, as the Pointers played host to Northern Michigan, South Dakota, Minnesota-Mankato and UW-Milwaukee.
Day 1 Results
Highlights from the opening day of action included the women's 400 medley relay placing eighth, while the men's 400 medley relay placed second. The women's 200 free relay also had a third place showing on day one while the men finished second.
Individually, Haley Kunavich finished 15th in the 200 IM and Kelly Chamela finished 14th in the 50 free.
On the men's side, the Pointers Joseph Clapp finished second in the 50 free, Eric Emerson finished just behind in third. Luuk Dekkers posted a fifth-place finish in the 500 and Zack Desy finished fourth in the 200 IM.
Action resumes on Saturday, Nov. 10 at 10 a.m.
