STEVENS POINT, Wis. – Eleven different Pointers tallied a goal as the UW-Stevens Point women's hockey team defeated Finlandia 12-0 Friday night in the UWSP 2012 home-opener at Ice Hawks Arena.

The Pointers (2-1-0, 1-0-0 NCHA) claimed a 6-0 lead by the end of the first period. Nicole Schaub (Vadnais Heights, MN/White Bear Lake) scored two goals in the period and Emily Lester (Eau Claire, WI/Memorial) added three assists in the frame.

Schaub's two goals and Lester's three assists led all players for the game.

Cassandra Salmen (Stillwater, MN/Stillwater), Brooke Hanson (Maple Grove, MN/Maple Grove) and Michelle Lunneborg (Richfield, MN/Richfield) each recorded two assists in the win. Salmen and Hanson also netted one goal each.

The Pointers and Lions (0-1-0, 0-1-0 NCHA) faceoff again Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at Ice Hawks Arena.
