Cassandra Salmen (Stillwater, MN/Stillwater) scored two first-period goals for the UW-Stevens Point women's hockey team as it rolled to a 5-2 victory over Concordia University on Saturday afternoon.

The Pointers carried Salmen's 2-0 lead into the second period before
Michelle Lunneborg (Richfield, MN/Richfield) gave the Pointers a 3-0 edge just two minutes into the second frame.
Concordia dug its way back into the game, recording two goals of its own in the period, by Alexis Machuga and Chelsea Regan, making the score 3-2.
The Pointers continued their scoring attack as
Allie Tanzer (Chippewa Falls, WI/Chippewa Falls) scored her sixth goal of the season less than 20 seconds into the final period to extend UWSP's lead back to two, 4-2.
Nikki Kloes (Antigo, WI/Antigo) capped off the scoring for the Pointers late in the third, giving UWSP the 5-2 victory in league play.
Janna Beilke-Skoug (Madison WI/East) tallied 28 saves including 14 in the third period to earn the victory.
UW-Stevens Point (5-1-0, 4-0-0 NCHA) returns home Nov. 16-17 for a weekend series against Lake Forest. Action set for 7 p.m. on Friday and 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.
