STEVENS POINT – The UW-Stevens Point women's tennis team suffered a 9-0 loss at the hands of four-time defending conference champion UW-Whitewater on Tuesday afternoon at Goerke Park.

Facing a 3-0 deficit after doubles, all six Pointers fell in straight sets to the overpowering Warhawks. Taylor Weuve (Green Bay, WI/Preble), Katelyn Presti (Janesville, WI/Parker) and Monica Preisig (Wausau, WI/West) were the only singles players to record points in singles matches in the loss.

UW-Stevens Point (1-6, 0-2 WIAC) look to snap their six-match losing streak this weekend with a pair of conference match-ups against UW-Stout and UW-River Falls. The Pointers will take on the Blue Devils at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 30 and then face the Falcons on Saturday, Oct. 1 at 9 a.m. in River Falls.
