STEVENS POINT – The UW-Stevens Point women's tennis team opened the spring portion of their schedule on Saturday at SentryWorld, dropping a 7-2 decision to the Titans of UW-Oshkosh.
The Pointers' tandem of Rachel Brown (Neenah, WI/St. Mary Central) and Taylor Weuve (Green Bay, WI/Preble) gave the Pointers their lone win in doubles action, as they picked up an 8-6 victory over Lauren Piotrowski and Whitney Tornow.
In singles, the Titans tallied five victories before UWSP's Natalie Casillas (Milton/Milton) tallied her first victory as a Pointer with a 2-6, 6-3, 1-0 (10-6) victory over Valerie Langkau.
The Pointers conclude their three game spring schedule on April 16 when they face UW-River Falls and St. Mary's in River Falls. Match time is set for 10 a.m. in River Falls.
