Swimming Closes Season at NCAA Championships

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The UW-Stevens Point men's swimming & diving team finished 11th and the women's team finished 33rd at the 2011 NCAA Division III Championships at the Allan Jones Aquatic Center. The event was co-hosted by Beloit College and College of Wooster. 

For the first time in 31 years, there was a new national champion on the men's side as Denison University upset the 31-time defending champion Kenyon College by one point. 

In all the Pointers accumulated seven All-American honors including five first team accolades. 

On the women's side, Emory University captured its second consecutive team title. 

The Pointer women amassed four All-American awards, all honorable mention.

100-Yard Freestyle: Sam Davy (UW-Stevens Point-14th)
100-Yard Butterfly: Ryan Farmer (UW-Stevens Point-Seventh)
200-Yard Freestyle Relay: UW-Stevens Point (Matthew Olp, Joey Clapp, Ryan Farmer, Sam Davy-Seventh)
400-Yard Freestyle Relay: UW-Stevens Point (Matthew Olp, Joey Clapp, Ryan Farmer, Sam Davy-Eighth)
200-Yard Medley Relay: UW-Stevens Point (Joey Clapp, Matthew Olp, Ryan Farmer, Sam Davy-Fifth)
400-Yard Medley Relay: UW-Stevens Point (Joey Clapp, Matthew Olp, Ryan Farmer, Sam Davy-15th)

100-Yard Breaststroke: Kelly Kading (UW-Stevens Point-12th)
200-Yard Freestyle Relay: UW-Stevens Point (Lisa Clemens, Jessica Nordstrom, Kelly Kading, Andrea Wagner-15th)
200-Yard Medley Relay: UW-Stevens Point (Ashley Majewski, Kelly Kading, Lisa Clemens, Jessica Nordstrom-13th)
400-Yard Medley Relay: UW-Stevens Point (Ashley Majewski, Kelly Kading, Lisa Clemens, Andrea Wagner-16th)
