STEVENS POINT, Wis. - The UW-Stevens Point men's and women's swimming teams defended their home turf and wrapped up the third and final session of the 2011 Border Battle meet. The men finished second with 928.5 points and the women placed third with 883 points.
On the women's side, Jenny Bennet posted a strong swim in the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:21.04 and was followed by senior Allison Wilker in the 200 Breaststroke with a time of 2:37.32.
On the men's side,
Jeff Peterson (Verona, WI/) finished third in the 200 breaststroke in a time of 2:18.24 and was joined by teammate
AJ Souers (Owatonna, MN/) who finished fourth (2:28.39).
On the boards, senior
Anna Nyland (Eau Claire, WI/) finished second in the women's three meter diving competition and was joined by sophomore Elizabeth Schaeffer who finished fourth. Nyland again had a set of strong dives by finished second in the women's one meter diving competition. Freshmen
Ben Meendering (Sheldon, IA/) and
Jacob Szeligowski (Stevens Point, WI/) both finished second and third in the men's three-meter and one-meter diving competition.
