STEVENS POINT, Wis. - UW-Superior scored two short-handed goals on Saturday evening on its way to a five-goal outburst as it handed the UW-Stevens Point men's hockey team a 5-2 loss at K.B. Willett Arena.
It was UWSP which struck first in the game's opening minutes as
Kyle Heck (Plover, WI/SPASH) scored on the power play at 5:32.
Superior answered with a power play goal of its own just over a minute later and tacked on the evening's first short-handed goal from Pat Dalbec in the second period.
UWSP evened the score on a
Nick Kenney (Wixom, MI/Walled Lake Western) goal at the 6:23 mark of the second period.
From there it was all Superior, as the 'Jackets tacked on three more goals including a short-handed goal that was awarded on an empty net goal.
Nick Graves (Hewitt, WI/Ashwaubenon) tallied 20 saves on the evening while Drew Strandberg recorded 18.
UW-Stevens Point (2-4-1, 1-2-1 NCHA) returns to action with a pair of games Nov. 18-19 at UW-River Falls. Game time both evenings is set for 7 p.m.
