STEVENS POINT – The UW-Stevens Point women's tennis team fell to 2-8 overall and 1-4 in conference play on Friday afternoon, suffering a 9-0 defeat at the rackets of UW-Eau Claire. 

The Pointers fell behind 3-0 after doubles and the visiting Blugolds did not let up, allowing only five Pointer points to complete the 9-0 sweep.  Taylor Weuve (Green Bay, WI/Preble) was the only Pointer to win more than game, but fell 6-0, 6-2 to Eau Claire's Gretchen Bachmeier. 

UW-Stevens Point closes out the conference and fall season on Thursday, Oct. 13 with a 4 p.m. match-up with UW-Oshkosh in Oshkosh.
