MINNEAPOLIS--For the second consecutive season, four Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) teams earned points at the NCAA Division III Men's Swimming and Diving Championship that was held at the University of Minnesota Aquatic Center in Minneapolis, Minn., on March 17-20. Beloit College (Wis.) and Wooster College (Wis.) served as hosts of the national meet.
Kenyon College (Ohio) secured its 31st consecutive national title with 696 points to easily surpass the second-place total of 272 points by Denison University (Ohio). Emory University (Ga.) finished third with 259.50 points, Kalamazoo College (Mich.) fourth with 244 points and Amherst College (Mass.) fifth with 217 points.
UW-La Crosse led the WIAC quartet, finishing 22nd with 37.50 points. UW-Stevens Point placed 24th with 36 points, UW-Oshkosh tied for 26th with 34 points and UW-Eau Claire tied for 52nd with five points. A total of 61 teams accumulated points at this year's championship.
UW-Oshkosh's Phil Devine won the three-meter diving competition with 563 points to become the second individual in WIAC history to claim a national crown in the event. UW-Eau Claire's John Karpe was victorious in 1998 and 1999.
The top eight finishers in each event claimed All-America honors, while places 9-16 earned honorable mention All-America status.

MINNEAPOLIS--For the second straight year, three Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) teams registered points at the NCAA Division III Women's Swimming and Diving Championship that was held at the University of Minnesota Aquatic Center in Minneapolis, Minn., on March 17-20. Beloit College (Wis.) and Wooster College (Wis.) served as hosts of the national meet.
Emory University (Ga.) captured its third national championship in the last six seasons with 568.50 points to surpass the second-place total of 452 points by Denison University (Ohio). Williams College (Mass.) finished third with 367 points, three-time defending champion Kenyon College (Ohio) fourth with 318 points and Claremont-Mudd-Scripps College (Calif.) fifth with 177 points.
UW-La Crosse topped the WIAC trio, recording a seventh-place finish with 130 points. UW-Stevens Point placed 13th with 76 points and UW-Eau Claire tied for 38th with 13 points. A total of 52 teams earned points at this year's championship.
The top eight finishers in each event claimed All-America honors, while places 9-16 earned honorable mention All-America status.
