EAU CLAIRE – The UW-Stevens Point women's tennis team dropped an 8-1 decision on Friday afternoon to 11th-ranked UW-Eau Claire.

Allison Fortier (Rhinelander, WI/Rhinelander) was the lone winner for the Pointers (4-4, 1-3 WIAC).

Fortier dropped her opening set 2-6 but came storming back to take the match in the third set 6-4, 7-5. The win is the fourth of the season for Fortier and her second straight.

In the midst of a three game road trip, the Pointers will next travel to three time defending conference champion UW-Whitewater on October 6 for a match-up with the Warhawks.
