STEVENS POINT – Two second period goals was too much for the Pointers to overcome on Saturday afternoon, as the Golden Gusties of Gustavus Adolphus shutout the UW-Stevens Point women's hockey team in non-conference hockey action at Ice Hawks Arena.

After a scoreless first period, the Gusties added two goals in the second, one on the power play, to take the lead.

In the third, the Pointers were unable to capitalize on three power play opportunities and Gustavus keeper Danielle Justice turned away 10 third period shots by UWSP, preserving the shutout.

d'Andra Phillips (Swartz Creek, MI) recorded 41 saves on the evening but suffered the loss in goal for UW-Stevens Point. 

UW-Stevens Point (7-4-1) returns to action next Friday and Saturday, Jan. 15-16, when they host Marian University in Northern Collegiate Hockey Association action. Game time Friday is 7 p.m.
