STEVENS POINT, Wis. – UW-Stevens Point head baseball coach Nat Richter has announced the addition of Jake Cekander as an assistant coach on his staff.
 
Cekander comes to UWSP after coaching at Eastlake High School in his hometown of Chula Vista, California last spring. Prior to that, Cekander worked for his alma mater the University of Dubuque and at the Field of Dreams in Dyersville, Iowa.
 
Cekander was a three-time all-conference outfielder for the Dubuque Spartans. He was a first-team selection as a senior and earned second-team honors as a sophomore and as a junior. He was also a three-time College Sports Communicators Academic All-District selection and three-time academic all-conference honoree.
 
He earned both his bachelor's degree and master's degree in sports management from the University of Dubuque.
