ATLANTA, Ga. – UW-Stevens Point senior women's basketball player
Maija Rice (L'Anse, Mich./L'Anse Area) was named to the 2026 Women's Collegiate All-Star Team presented by the WBCA, it was announced on Tuesday (Mar. 17).
Rice is the second Pointer in as many seasons to be selected to the prestigious collegiate all-star game as
Alexa Thomson (De Pere, Wis./West) represented UWSP in 2025.
Rice was named a D3hoops.com All-Region IX first team pick a day ago and was an All-WIAC first team selection this season.
She led the WIAC in scoring at 17.3 points per game and was third in both free-throw percentage (.842) and rebounding (7.5). On Feb. 14, she scored her 1,000th career point at UW-La Crosse.
The 2026 Women's Collegiate All-Star Game presented by the WBCA will be played at 1 p.m. ET, Saturday, March 21, preceding the NCAA Division III women's basketball national championship game in the Cregger Center on the campus of Roanoke College in Salem, Virginia.
The all-stars were chosen by a committee composed of head women's basketball coaches of NCAA Division III programs, all of whom are members of the WBCA. All players were nominated by WBCA member coaches.
The 20 all-stars are divided into two 10-member teams for the game. Anne Crutchfield, former head coach of Emory & Henry University in Emory, Virginia, and Adrienne Shibles, former head coach of Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine, will coach the teams. Rice is a member of Team Crutchfield.
