Twelve Pointers Earn Academic All-District Honors

GREENWOOD, Ind. – UW-Stevens Point athletics had 12 athletes named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) academic all-district at-large teams, as announced Tuesday (Jun. 17). Nico Chmelevski (Northville, Mich.), Michael Eftimovski (Toronto, Ont.), Peyton Hart (Delafield, Wis.) and Alex Proctor (Allen, Texas) from men's hockey, Spencer Baeckman (Germantown, Wis./Germantown) from men's volleyball and Easton Hull (Waupun, Wis./Waupun) from wrestling earned the men's honors. Maddie Andrle (Blaine, Minn./Blaine), Emily Griege (Chesterfield, Mo./Westminster Christian Academy), Courtney Leising (Maple Grove, Minn./Maple Grove) and Grace Torma (Centerville, Minn./Centennial) from women's hockey, Kate Downie (Hortonville, Wis./Hortonville) from women's golf and Marissa Van Dyke (Green Bay, Wis./Green Bay Southwest) from women's lacrosse earned the women's honors.

Chmelevski earned his first academic all-district nod. He played in 27 games this season with 10 goals and 25 assists. Chmelevski was named to the All-WIAC first team this season. Last year, he earned AHCA Krampade All-American Scholar.
 
Eftimovski picked up his first academic all-district honor. He played in 26 games this season with one goal and nine assists. Eftimovski was named to the All-WIAC honorable mention team this season.
 
Hart received his third-straight academic all-district distinction, earning two prior to arriving at UWSP. He played in 27 games this season with 16 goals and five assists. Hart was recognized as an All-WIAC honorable mention player this season.
 
Proctor earned his first academic all-district accolade. He played in 24 games this season, recording 600 saves with a save percentage of .924 while only allowing 49 goals. Proctor earned All-WIAC honorable mention honors this season.
 
Baeckman picked up his first academic all-district nod. He played in 25 matches this season, posting 87 kills, 55 total blocks, 53 digs, 11 service aces and nine assists.
 
Hull received his first academic all-district honor. He finished the season 22-11 overall in the 184 weight class. He finished sixth at the WIAC Championships meet and fifth in the NCAA Region VII Championship meet. On Mar. 21, Hull was recognized as a NWCA Scholar All-America Recipient.
 
Andrle earned her second-straight academic all-district honor. She played in 25 games recording a career-high 12 goals and 14 assists this season. Andrle was named to the All-WIAC honorable mention team this season. Last season, she received an AHCA Krampade All-American Scholar distinction.
 
Griege picked up her first academic all-district nod. She played in 15 games, recording 274 saves with a save percentage of .928 while only allowing 29 goals this season. Griege was recognized as an All-WIAC first team player at the end of the season. Last season, she was recognized as an AHCA Krampade All-American Scholar.
 
Leising received her second-straight academic all-district accolade. She played in 27 games this season, posting 14 goals and 17 assists. Leising earned multiple WIAC post-season honors, including All-WIAC first team honors and the Judy Kruckman Scholar Athlete award. Last season, she was honored as an AHCA Krampade All-American Scholar.
 
Torma picked up her second-straight academic all-district honor. She played in 27 games this season with one goal and one assist while blocking 24 shots. Torma earned the AHCA Krampade All-America Scholar honor last season.
 
Downie earned her first academic all-district nod. She finished the season with an overall record of 353-87-11, her best score, +12, earned her a tie for first place at the UWL Spring Invite (Apr. 5). Downie finished in the top-14 individually in seven of the eight tournaments this season.
 
Van Dyke received her first academic all-district honor. She played in all 17 games, recording 27 goals and 21 assists while picking up 25 ground balls, winning 49 draw controls and causing 22 turnovers this season. On May 8, Van Dyke was recognized as a member of the All-WIAC honorable mention team.
