OSHKOSH, Wis.—The UW-Stevens Point women's track and field team is in sixth place after day one of the WIAC Outdoor Championships (presented by Culver's). The women have a score of six and the men have a score of one.

The women's six points come from two top eight finishes in the javelin throw from Brenna Steinagel (Merrill, Wis./Merrill) and Lindsey Taylor (Mukwonago, Wis./Mukwonago).
 
Steinagel placed fifth with a mark of 36.69 meters.
 
Taylor took seventh with a throw of 35.10 meters.
 
The men's point comes from an eighth-place finish in the javelin throw from Thomas Cole (Oconomowoc, Wis./Oconomowoc), with a mark of 47.97 meters.
 
Tyler Nosko (Ramsey, Minn./Anoka) qualified for the 800-meter run finals tomorrow, with a qualifying time of 1:55.46.
 
The Pointers remain in Oshkosh for day two of the WIAC Outdoor Championships tomorrow, beginning at 11:00 a.m.
