Diaz To Step Down, Lindsley Taking Women’s Lacrosse Interim Role

3/26/2025 5:05:00 PM

STEVENS POINT, Wis. – UW-Stevens Point women's lacrosse coach Christian Diaz has announced that he will step down from his role effective Monday (March 31) to attend to a family medical situation. Katie Lindsley will take over as interim head coach for the remainder of the season.

"Coach Diaz has done a great job of getting our women's lacrosse program off the ground," said Director of Athletics Brad Duckworth. "We wish him and his family the best moving forward."

Diaz has led the Pointers' lacrosse program from its inception and has guided the team through its first season and a half. Last season, his team defeated UW-Stout on April 17 for the first win in program history.

The Pointers had four players earn All-WIAC honors under Diaz following the 2024 inaugural season.

This season, Diaz's team leads the WIAC in saves per game and is second in saves percentage.

Diaz will coach the team's games at Franklin College on Friday (March 28) and at Saint Mary's College on Saturday (March 29). Lindsley will coach her first game on April 2 at UW-Stout.
