A day after being named to the WBCA All-Star Game, UW-Stevens Point women's basketball senior Alexa Thomson (De Pere, Wis./West) picks up D3hoops.com All-Region 9 second-team honors.

Thomson earns her first career all-region selection after picking up first-team all-conference honors. This season, she led the Pointers to the first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2015-16.
 
She was the third-highest scorer in the conference at 17.1 points per game and became the 22nd player in school history to score 1,000 points on Jan. 29. She finished her UWSP career with 1,161 points, the 12th-most in program history.
 
Thomson is the first UWSP player to earn all-region honors since Allie Miceli was a third-team selection in 2016.
