Anderson Named POY for Third Time, Eight Pointers Land All-WIAC Honors

MADISON, Wis. – Senior Fletcher Anderson (Thunder Bay, Ont.) was named the WIAC Player of the Year for the third-consecutive season headlining a bevy of honors bestowed to the UW-Stevens Point men's hockey team on Tuesday (March 11). Anderson, Nico Chmelevski (Northville, Mich.), Evan Junker (Elk River, Minn.), and Andrew Poulias (Whitby, Ont.) are were named to the All-WIAC first team. Michael Eftimovski (Toronto, Ont.), Peyton Hart (Delafield, Wis.), Alex Proctor (Allen, Texas) and Dawson Sciarrino (Greensburg, Pa.) received All-WIAC honorable mention nods. Matthew Falls (Toronto,Ont.) was named to the WIAC All-Sportsmanship team.

Anderson earns his third-straight player of the year honor after sharing the accolade the last two season. He led the WIAC with 36 points on the year, a league-best 1.38 points per game. He was second in assists with 23 to teammate Chmelevski. His 13 goals were seventh in the WIAC. Anderson led all WIAC players with 100 shots. He had 11 multi-point games this season and earned WIAC Player of the Week honors the final week the regular season.
 
Chmelevski picks up his first career all-conference honor. He was second in the league in points with 35. He led all WIAC players with 25 assists on the year. He posted 12 multi-point nights for the Pointers this season. Chmelevski had a nine-game point streak from Jan. 11 to Feb. 7 and going back to Nov. 23, he had points in 15 of 16 games.
 
Junker gets his first league honor after skating in 22 games this season. He posted six assists on the year with five of the six against league opponents.
 
Poulias grabs his second career honor after a first-team nod in 2023. He was fourth on the team with 29 points with 14 goals and 15 assists on the season. He posted seven multi-point games with three of them being three-point nights. His four game-winning goals was third in the conference. Poulias was named to the UD Collegiate Classic all-tournament team at the beginning of the year.
 
Eftimovski garners his first career league laurel. He skated in 26 games with one goal and nine assists. Four of his assists came against league foes.
 
Hart lands his third career All-WIAC honor in his first year with the Pointers. He tied for the league lead with 16 goals on the season. Nine of his goals were on the power play, more than double any other WIAC player. He also tied for the league lead with two shorthanded goals. Hart had four multi-point games and scored a goal in seven-straight games from Nov. 23 to Jan. 11.
 
Proctor secures his second-straight league honor after a first-team selection in 2024. He led the WIAC with a .924 saves percentage. He was second in goals against average (2.21) and saves per game (25.00). He posted a 16-5-2 record on the year with three shutouts, all against conference opponents.
 
Sciarrino lands his second-straight honorable mention selection. He tied Hart for the league lead with 16 goals on the season. He added 16 assists, fourth-best in the conference, and his 32 points were third in the WIAC behind Anderson and Chmelevski. Sciarrino had eight multi-point nights, including back-to-back three-point games in Nov. to earn WIAC Player of the Week honors.
 
Falls is named to the WIAC All-Sportsmanship team after skating in a career-high 25 games. He scored seven goals and added six assists, both career bests. He had three-multi point nights on the year, including at Northland in Dec. when he netted his first career goal.
 
The Pointers finished the season with a 19-6-2 record and fell in the mini-game of the WIAC semifinals. UWSP's eight All-WIAC selections are the most since the Pointers had eight in the historic 2018-19 season.
