STEVENS POINT, Wis.—The UW-Stevens Point men's track and field team finished fifth at the WIAC Indoor Championships (presented by Culver's) with a score of 49. The women finish eighth with a score of 14.5.
 
Results
 
The men were led by Ian Lillquist (New Prague, Minn./New Prague), Derek Penzkover (Rice Lake, Wis./Rice Lake) and Casey Ploederl (Clintonville, Wis./Clintonville).
 
Lillquist finished third in the triple jump with a mark of 14.44 meters.
 
Penzkover took fifth in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:55.92.
 
Ploederl placed fifth in the high jump with a mark of 2.00-meters.
 
The women were led by the 4x400-relay team of Malina Carattini (Mosinee, Wis/Mosinee), Jaimie Deschand (Fond du Lac, Wis./Fond du Lac), Julia Olson (Bark River, Mich./Bark River-Harris) and Ashley Bartelt (Hartford, Wis./Hartford Union), who took sixth with a time of 4:07.27.
 
Melanie Princl (West Bend, Wis./West) finished eighth in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.24.
 
The UWSP track and field teams are back in action Saturday (Mar. 8) at the Wartburg Final Qualifier and La Crosse Final Qualifier.
