Ashley Kopp (Muskego, Wis./Muskego) added a couple more awards to her portfolio, the American Volleyball Coaches Association announced Wednesday (Nov. 20). Kopp was named the AVCA Region 8 Player of the Year and earned her fourth nod on the All-Region first team.

Kopp was one of 10 AVCA Region Players of the Year announced on Wednesday across all DIII volleyball. It is her second specialty award after getting the Region 8 Freshman of Year honor in 2021. She becomes just the second UWSP player (April Gehl, 2019) to be named AVCA Region Player of the Year. She also is the first Pointer to be named to the all-region team fourth times in a career.
Kopp leads all active DIII players with 2,176 career kills, the 24th-most in NCAA DIII history. She is third in the nation this season with 508 kills, the fourth-straight year she has surpassed the 500-kills plateau.
Last week, Kopp was named the WIAC Offensive Player of the Year for the second time in her UWSP career. She was twice named WIAC Offensive Player of the Week this season and earned the distinction seven times in her UWSP career.
An all-around player, Kopp posted 15 doubles-doubles this season. She led the team with 46 service aces and is one away from tying the UWSP program record. She was second on team this season with 58 total blocks and 296 digs.
Kopp moves on to the All-America ballot which will be announced on Nov. 27. Kopp was a first-team All-America selection in 2023 and received All-America honorable mention laurels in 2021 and 2022.
