STEVENS POINT, Wis.--- Five members of the UW-Stevens Point women's soccer team were recognized as College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District honorees, the organization announced Tuesday (Nov. 19). Seniors
Jessica Camarato (DeForest, Wis./DeForest Area),
Madison Culli (Arlington Heights, Ill./Prospect), and
Mara Gustafson (Green Bay, Wis./Bay Port) along with junior
Cass Klitzke (Reedsburg, Wis./Reedsburg Area) and sophomore
Kaitlan Jones (Plymouth, Minn./Heritage Christian Acad.) received honors.
CSC Release
Camarato repeats as an academic all-district selection after earning the honor in 2023. She started and played in all 19 matches this season with three goals, one against a league foe, UW-River Falls, in the first-round of the WIAC tournament, and three assists. She was also named to the WIAC All-Sportsmanship Team this season.
Culli lands her first academic all-district selection. She started and played in all 19 matches this season. She scored one goal against Dubuque. Culli added an assist against Carroll.
Gustafson earns her second academic all-district selection. Earlier this month, Gustafson was named to the All-WIAC first team. She started and played every minute of all 19 matches this season. Gustafson scored two goals this season, one against UW-Whitewater. She had four assists, two against Concordia (Wis.).
Klitzke receives the academic all-district selection for a second season in a row. She played in 18 matches this season. Klitzke scored four goals, against Concordia Wisconsin, Beloit, Saint Mary's and UW-Whitewater. Her four goals were tied for the most on the team.
Jones picks up her first academic all-district selection. She started and played all 19 matches this season. Jones played in all 90 minutes in 18 matches. She tallied an assist against Dubuque.
The Pointers were 6-8-5 this season and reached the first round of WIAC Tournament. Gustafson was joined by
Gabby Dunn (Dallas, Texas/Bishop Lynch),
Piper Hanley (Farmington, Minn./Farmington), and
Erika Panella (Waukesha, Wis./Kettle Moraine) on this season's All-WIAC teams.
