MADISON, Wis. – Four members of the UW-Stevens Point women's soccer team were awarded All-WIAC honors, the league announced on Friday (Nov. 7).
Christa Borchardt (New Berlin, Wis./West),
Ainsley Katte (Cedarburg, Wis./Cedarburg) and
Cass Klitzke (Reedsburg, Wis./Reedsburg Area) were named to the first team and
Sophia Ryan (Orland Park, Ill./Victor J. Andrew) earned honorable mention honors. Senior
Emma Schmidt (Oshkosh, Wis./West) was named to the WIAC All-Sportsmanship team

Borchardt picks up her first career conference award. She started and played in all 21 matches this season. She leads the team, and is tied for the conference lead, with 10 assists and is tied for the team lead with 22 points. On October 22, she scored a hat trick, the first by a Pointer since 2018, accounting for all three goals in a 3-0 win at UW-Eau Claire. Borchardt has an assist in each of the last three matches.
Katte snags all-conference honors in her first season at UWSP. She has started and played in 10 matches with a 5-1-4 record. She had five shutouts and one shared with a season goals against average of 0.83. She posted a shutout with three saves in her debut at Saint Mary's. Katte has four wins in the last five matches (4-0-1) with three shutouts.
Klitzke garners her first career league award. She started and played in all 21 matches. Her 10 goals lead the team and are the most in a season since 2021. Klitzke is also tied for the team lead with 22 points. From Sept. 16 to Oct. 4, Klitzke scored at least one goal in six-straight matches, the longest streak by a Pointer since 2009. She scored a season-high two goals at Luther, including a match-winner in the final seconds.
Ryan lands league honors after an outstanding start to her career. She has started and played in all 21 matches with a team-best 1,793 minutes played. She has helped the UWSP defense record nine shutouts on the season. Ryan has scored two goals this season, the second one was on Wednesday in the final minute of regulation to tie the WIAC First Round match against UW-Whitewater.
Schmidt was named to the all-sportsmanship team after playing in 16 matches her senior season. She scored her first collegiate goal on October 29 in a win at Ripon.
The Pointers travel to UW-La Crosse for the WIAC Tournament semifinals today beginning at 4:00 p.m.
