MADISON, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point women's tennis moved up to fourth in the standing after the completion of action at the WIAC Championships (presented by Culver's) on Sunday.
Results
Brooklynn Steier (West De Pere, Wis./West De Pere) helped the Pointers move up in the standings with a third-place finish at No. 3 singles. She won, 6-4, 6-3, in the third-place match against UW-Eau Claire.
Tristin Jantz (Salem, Wis./Westosha Central) took fifth at No. 1 singles with a 6-1, 6-2 victory over UW-Stout.
Jordan Scharf (Wauwatosa, Wis./West) won her fifth-place match at No. 4 singles, 6-4, 6-3, over UW-River Falls.
Morgan Milan (Greenfield, Wis./Whitnall) finished fifth at No. 6 singles winning over UW-Stout, 6-2, 7-6 (6).
Maya Kunze (Stevens Point, Wis./Pacelli) and
Allie Brosteau (Suamico, Wis./Bay Port) finished fourth at No. 2 and No. 5 singles, respectively.
In doubles play, Jantz and Scharf at No. 1 and Brosteau and
Abigail Ashley (Green Bay, Wis./Bay Port) at No. 3 took fourth.
The Pointers' jump to fourth in the final standings qualifies UWSP for the WIAC Team Tournament in April.
