DE PERE, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point men's swimming and diving team defeated St. Norbert on the road. The UWSP men finished with a score of 169 to SNC's 109 and the UWSP women finished with a score of 109 to SNC's 170.
Results
The men were led by Camden Barwick (Weston, Wis./D.C. Everest) taking first-place finishes in the 50-yard freestyle and the 100-yard freestyle, with times of 21.59 and 48.71, respectively. Kody Hellenbrand (Madison, Wis./East) took a pair first-place finishes in the 200-yard butterfly and the 100-yard butterfly with times of 2:02.12 and 54.16, respectively.
Jacob Biscan (Edina, Minn./Edina) won the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:02.22, followed by Wyatt Gross (Geneva, Ill./Geneva Community) and Mason Releford (Vacaville, Cal./Vacaville Christian), with second- and third-place finishes. Releford won the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:14.98, followed by Gross and Will Nicol (Green Bay, Wis./Bay Port).
Scott Jenn (Madison, Wis./Memorial) won the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:07.93 and Mason Releford (Vacaville, Cal./Vacaville Christian) won the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:14.98.
Declan Trant (Downers Grove, Ill./Downers Grove South) took the one-meter dive with a final score of 338.35, followed by James Stadler (Madison, Wis./West) finishing second.
The first-place finishes continued into the relays, where the Pointers took the 400-yard freestyle, including Barwick, Peter McMahon (Whitefish Bay, Wis./Whitefish Bay), Biscan and Hellenbrand with a time of 3:14.07 and the 200-yard medley relay, including Jenn, Biscan, Hellenbrand and Barwick with a time of 1:39.06.
The women were led by Kyler Ernst (Fountain City, Wis./Luther) taking first-place in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 59.99. Kasey Fris (New Lenox, Ill./Lincoln Way West) finished in first place in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:14.00. Ayanna King (Winona, Minn./Cotter) won the one-meter dive with a final score of 231.90.
The women took a first-place finish in the 400-yard freestyle relay, including Brooke Buck (Janesville, Wis./AZVA Academy), Fris, Ernst and Maddy Magle (Sheboygan, Wis./Kohler) with a time of 3:45.24.
The Pointers are back in action next Friday (Nov. 1) at Green Bay, starting at 6:00 p.m.
