Stevens Point, Wis— The UW-Stevens Point swimming and diving team opened up the season falling to UW-Eau Claire. The UWSP men finished with a score of 92.5 to UWEC's 210.5 and the UWSP women finished with a score of 92 to UWEC's 207.
Results
The Pointers men were led by Camden Barwick (Weston, Wis./D.C. Everest), who finished first in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 21.73 and the leadoff split in the 200-yard freestyle relay along with Jacob Biscan (Edina, Minn./Edina), Peter McMahon (Whitefish Bay, Wis./Whitefish Bay) and Matthew Loy (Mazomanie, Wis./Wisconsin Heights), with a mark of 1:27.15.
Declan Trant (Downers Grove, Ill./Downers Grove South) took first-place finishes in the one-meter dive and three-meter dive, with scores of 212.30 and 279.20, respectively.
Kasey Fris (New Lenox, Ill./Lincoln Way West) won the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:13.25 and the leadoff split in the 200-yard freestyle relay along with Kyler Ernst (Fountain City, Wis./Luther), Rose Hansen (Grand Rapids, Minn./Grand Rapids) and Hollyn Ambre (Batavia, Ill./Batavia), with a mark of 1:40.61.
The Pointers are back in action on Saturday (Oct. 26) at St. Norbert College. Diving will start at 10:00 a.m. and swimming at 1:00 p.m.
