UWSP Women’s Basketball Announces 2023-24 Schedule

STEVENS POINT, Wis. – Second-year head coach Matt Hockett has announced the completion of his UW-Stevens Point women's basketball schedule for the 2023-24 season. Including the season-opening tip-off tournament, the Pointers will play 12 home games on Shirley Egner Court in Berg Gym. Also. On this season's slate, the Pointers will play exhibition games against Division I and Division II teams.

UWSP will begin the season at home by hosting St. Norbert and Concordia (Minn.) in the tip-off tournament on Nov. 10 and 11. Following the opening weekend at home, the Pointers set out on a four-game road trip with games at St. Scholastica (Nov. 18), Lakeland (Nov. 21), Ripon (Nov. 29) and North Central (Minn.) (Dec. 2).
 
The longest homestand of the season awaits when UWSP returns to Berg Gym on Dec. 6 against Benedictine. The three-game homestand continues with MSOE and Lawrence coming to town on Dec. 14 and 21.
 
Non-conference play and the calendar year conclude with the Pointers heading to Florida to face Grinnell and Suffolk on Dec. 29 and 30.
 
League play kicks off at home with UWSP hosting UW-Stout on Jan. 3. UW-La Crosse (Jan. 6) and UW-Eau Claire (Jan. 13) come to Stevens Point as the Pointers are at home for three of the first four conference games.
 
The final back-to-back home games see UW-Platteville (Jan. 24) and UW-River Falls (Jan. 27) here in the midst of the league slate. Following a pair of road league games, UW-Whitewater pays a visit to Berg Gym on Feb. 7.
 
The final two road games precede the regular season finale, a home tilt against UW-Oshkosh on Feb. 17.
 
The Pointers won 11 games in Hockett's first season at the helm. All five starters return for the Pointers this season, including All-WIAC selections Alexa Thomson (De Pere, Wis./West) and Jamie Pfeifer (Wisconsin Dells, Wis./Wisconsin Dells). Overall, more than 92 percent of UWSP's offense from last season returns.
