STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point swimming and diving teams won 10 events against UW-Milwaukee in the last dual before the conference championships. The men won with a score of 155-116 and the women fell with a score of 177-88.

Charlie Simpson (Mankato, Minn../West) won the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 48.87. Simpson also won the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 53.34, finishing just 0.23 seconds ahead of the second-place finisher.
David Anderson (Madison, Wis./West) won the 200-yard freestyle, clocking a career-best time of 1:45.22. Anderson also finished in third place in the 500-yard freestyle with a season-best time of 4:51.13.
Caiden Kuehn (Eagan, Minn./Eagan) topped the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 54.85.
Dylan Solis (Holland, Mich./West Ottawa) won the 100-yard breaststroke, touching the wall with a season-best time of 1:00.77, only 0.04 seconds before the second-place finisher.
Gus Grimstad (Decorah, Iowa/Decorah) topped the 200-yard butterfly, clocking a season-best time of 1:57.84.
Nathan Mudry (Oak Creek, Wis./Oak Creek) took first in the 1000-yard freestyle with a season-best time of 10:25.23.
The relay team of Rhys Gibbs (Colgate, Wis./Arrowhead Union), Owen Miller (Mequon, Wis./Mequon), Grimstad and Matthew Loy (Mazomanie, Wis./Wisconsin Heights) topped the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:36.69.
Owen Powell (Olney, Ill./Richland County) finished second in the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:02.82.
Jacob Larsen (Albany, Wis./Oregon) took second place in the 200-yard backstroke, touching the wall with a time of 1:59.44.
Miller finished in second place in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:12.30 and finished third in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 21.63.
Miller, Kody Hellenbrand (Madison, Wis./East), Loy and Peter McMahon (Whitefish Bay, Wis./Whitefish Bay) took second place with a time of 3:13.10 in the 400-yard freestyle relay.
For the women, Leyla Ninmer (Edgerton, Wis./Edgerton) won the 1000-yard freestyle with a season-best time of 12:02.39.
Tiana Cachuela (Oakdale, Minn./Park) won the 400-yard IM with a time of 5:14.17 and finished in second place in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:20.96.
Brooke Buck (Janesville, Wis./AZVA Academy) finished second in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:59.74. Buck also placed third in the 200-yard backstroke with a season-best time of 2:14.34 and placed fourth in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:26.85.
Signe Alger (Saint Peter, Minn./Saint Peter) took second place in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:00.66.
Kate Henson (Morrison, Ill./Morrison) placed second in the 100-yard breaststroke, clocking a time of 1:11.61.
Buck, Kasey Fris (New Lenox, Ill./Lincoln Way West), Joy Vandenberg (Black Creek, Wis./Appleton North) and Kyler Ernst (Fountain City, Wis./Luther) finished in second place in the 400-yard freestyle relay with a time of 3:45.40.
The relay team of Ernst, Henson, Vandenberg and Rose Hansen (Grand Rapids, Minn./Grand Rapids) placed third with a time of 1:52.38 in the 200-yard medley relay.
Paige Anderson (Forest Lake, Minn./Forest Lake Area) took third place in the 100-yard freestyle, clocking a time of 58.13.
Carolyn Powell (Olney, Ill./Richland County) placed fourth in the 200-yard breaststroke, clocking a season-best time of 2:39.46. Powell also finished sixth place in the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:26.03.
Vandenberg took fourth place in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:02.60.
Fris finished fifth in the 50-yard freestyle with a season-best time of 25.84.
The Pointers will head to the WIAC Championships in Brown Deer, Wis. beginning on Feb. 15.
