LEXINGTON, Ky. – Junior Ashley Kopp (Muskego, Wis./Muskego) received one of the highest honors in volleyball as the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) bestowed her with first-team All-America recognition on Tuesday (Nov. 28). Kopp becomes just the third UWSP volleyball player to earn first-team honors joining April Gehl in 2019 and Emma Brunkhorst in 2014.

Kopp lands her third career All-America nod after honorable mention selections her freshman and sophomore seasons. Earlier this month, she picked up her third-consecutive AVCA All-Region first-team laurel. She has also earned All-WIAC first-team honors all three seasons at UWSP.

This season, Kopp leads the nation in total kills at 593 and total points with 667.5. She took over the national lead with a season-high 27 kills in the NCAA Tournament round of 32 match at No. 2 Hope on Nov. 17. It was her fourth time on the season with 25 or more kills in a match.

Kopp racked up 24 double-double on the season, compiling the feat in all three of UWSP's postseason matches. She recorded 428 digs this season, the sixth-most in the conference and second on the team.

During the 2023 season, Kopp moved into third in school history in career kills and stands at 1,668 currently. She is also seventh in program history with 1,215 career digs.

Kopp was a three-time winner of the WIAC Offensive Player of the Week honor this season. She also earned all-tournament team honors five times, including at the NCAA Tournament Hope Regional.

Kopp added 54 total blocks, 44 service aces and 25 assists during the 2023 season. She increased her season hitting percentage to 0.275 and increased her kills per set to 4.67 this season.

The Pointers reached the NCAA Tournament for the third time in Kopp's career this season and advanced to the second round for the second-straight year. In Kopp's three seasons at UWSP, the Pointers have compiled a 75-27 record.
