ST. PETERS, Minn. – The UW-Stevens Point women's tennis team sent five players to the ITA Midwest Regionals over the weekend. All five were able to pick up at least one victory in either singles or doubles play.
 
Results
 
Faith Leithold (Onalaska, Wis./Onalaska) reached the finals in an open bracket for the second straight year. She earned three-straight 8-1 victories over opponents from Concordia (Wis.), St. Scholastica and Northwestern. In the finals, she forced a super-breaker versus a St. Olaf player, 7-6 (3), 5-7, 10-6.
 
UWSP's doubles pairing of Quinlyn Mack and Tristin Jantz picked up a pair of wins in the ITA Doubles bracket. They beat a duo from Luther, 8-2, in the first round. In the second round, they defeated a pair from Gustavus Adolphus.
 
UWSP's other doubles pairing of Barbara Covek (Barrington, Ill./Barrington) and Jenna Koepp (Watertown, Wis./Watertown) notched a tiebreaker win in the opening round against St. Scholastica by an 8-7 (5) final.
 
Covek also got a win in singles play with an 8-2 win against Macalester in the opening round.
 
The UWSP women's tennis team returns to action on Oct. 4 at UW-Whitewater. First serve is slated for 3:00 p.m.
