STEVENS POINT, Wis. – UW-Stevens Point head volleyball coach Lyndsay Kooi has finalized her team schedule for 2022, the programs 50th season on the court. Fresh off their second-straight NCAA Tournament appearance, the Pointers will see eight other NCAA Tournament teams from last year on the 2022 slate. UWSP will play 11 home matches, including hosting the reigning National Champions.

The Pointers kick off the 2022 season against the same team they played to end the 2021 season, Bethel, on Sept. 2. It will be the first of two NCAA Tournament teams UWSP will play at the U of Northwestern Tournament.
 
UWSP will play three more away matches before the home opener on Sept. 10. The first home match is at 12:00 p.m. against Saint Mary's before another home tilt versus Concordia Moorhead at 2:00 p.m.
 
The home stand continues with the conference opener against UW-Stout on Sept. 14 at 7:00 p.m. The Pointers head back on the road for three-straight, including matches against NCAA Tournament participants Gustavus Adolphus at the Loras Tournament and UW-Whitewater.
 
Five of the next six matches are at home for UWSP. The Pointers host the Pointers invitational on Sept. 23 and 24 and UWSP will play St. Olaf, Carthage and Concordia (Wis.) during the weekend. After a match at St. Catherine, the Pointers are back home against UW-Oshkosh and Augsburg on Sept. 30 and Oct. 1.
 
Another three-match road swing precedes a home tilt against 2021 National Champion UW-Eau Claire on Oct. 14 at 7:00 p.m. in Berg Gym. Following that huge home matchup, UWSP hits the road for three more.
 
The final home matches of the season will be on Oct. 21 and 22. The Pointers host NCAA Tournament team Illinois Wesleyan at 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 21. The next day at 3:00 p.m., UWSP takes on Wheaton for Senior Day.
 
The regular season concludes with two away matches at UW-La Crosse on Oct. 28 and 29. The WIAC Tournament is Nov. 1 through Nov. 5.
 
Last season, the Pointers finished 26-8 and reached the NCAA Tournament for the second-straight time and 10th time in program history. All-American Ashley Kopp (Muskego, Wis./Muskego) and All-WIAC selection Grace Michalske (Wausau, Wis./West) lead a young core of returners. Senior Emma Peterson (Bloomington, Minn./Thomas Jefferson) also returns after picking up WIAC All-Defensive Team honors last season.
 
UWSP will be competing in its 50th season as a program in 2022. The program began in 1972 (no season in 2020 due to COVID).
