LA CROSSE, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point track and field teams wrapped up the WIAC Outdoor Championships (presented by Culver's) on Saturday. The UWSP women moved up to sixth while the men remained in seventh. Senior
Jared Schrang (Oconomowoc, Wis./Oconomowoc) was named the Max Sparger Scholar-Athlete.

Schrang had quite a day on the track as well. He placed third in both the 110- and 400-meter hurdles with times of 14.44 and 54.80, respectively. He also teamed with
Tyler Santi (Kenosha, Wis./Tremper),
Brad Brewer (Slinger, Wis./Slinger) and
Evan Torgerson (Weston, Wis./D.C. Everest) to finish in a time of 3:21.80 in the 4x400-meter relay, good for fifth.
Nick Chesterman (Sun Prairie, Wis./Lakeside Lutheran) took fourth in the decathlon with 6202 points.
Blake Orr (Waupaca, Wis./Waupaca) placed fifth in the shot put with a distance of 15.59 meters (51' 1.75").
On the women's side,
Rachel Krouse (Milwaukee, Wis./Wauwatosa West) clocked in at 17:55.42 in the 5000-meter run to place second.
UWSP's 4x400meter relay team of
Savana Burg (Cedar Grove, Wis./Sheboygan Falls),
Esme Reinders (Eau Claire, Wis./Regis),
Brooke Wellhausen (Williams Bay, Wis./Big Foot) and
Anetha Vogele (Necedah, Wis./Necedah) finished second with a time of 3:57.21.
Ashley Bartelt (Hartford, Wis./Hartford Union) took fourth in the 400-meter hurdles. Her time was 1:04.16.
Leyna Herzog (Appleton, Wis./Fox Valley Lutheran) picked up a pair of fifth-place finishes in the 100- and 200-meter dashes. Her times were 12.04 and 25.09, respectively.
The Pointers will send athletes to Naperville, Illinois and La Crosse next week for a pair of events beginning on Thursday (May 12).
