ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – Seniors Brilyn Brecka (Alma, Wis./Alma) and Blake Orr (Waupaca, Wis./Waupaca) both tossed personal bests in the discus throw for the UW-Stevens Point track and field teams at the Augustana Midwest Twilight on Thursday.
 
Results
 
Brecka won the discus throw with a top toss of 44.81 meters. The throw was more than a meter over her previous best and unofficially moved her to 10th nationally. She also placed fourth in the hammer throw with a distance of 50.54 meters.
 
Orr also set a personal best with a distance of 51.83 meters in the discus to place third. His throw was more than three meters over his previous best and unofficially moved him to sixth nationally.
 
UWSP's 4x400-meter relay team of Savana Burg (Cedar Grove, Wis./Sheboygan Falls), Esme Reinders (Eau Claire, Wis./Regis), Ashley Bartelt (Hartford, Wis./Hartford Union) and Anetha Vogele (Necedah, Wis./Necedah) finished fifth with a time of 3:55.44.
 
The Pointers will next compete at the NCAA Outdoor Championships beginning on Thursday (May 26) in Geneva, Ohio. The official list of qualifiers will be released on NCAA.com on Friday (May 20).
