STEVENS POINT, Wis. – For the first time since Dec. 2014, the UW-Stevens Point men's wrestling team was shut out in dual action. Missing two ranked athletes from the lineup, the Pointers fell to visiting UW-La Crosse, 43-0.
 
One ranked UWSP wrestler, No. 9 Brandon Peckham (Plainfield, Wis./Tri-County) took the mat at 165. He battled No. 5 Seth Brossard to an 8-4 decision.
 
Noah Wieczorek (Clear Lake, Wis./Clear Lake) fell in a 2-0 decision at 285 to No. 6 Ben Kawczynski.
 
Luca Paladino (Oak Creek, Wis./Oak Creek) wrestled to a 6-3 decision at 125.  Alex Mischka (Kimberly, Wis./Kimberly) dropped an 8-4 decision at 197.  At 174, Trystan Altensey (Port Byron, Ill./Riverdale) came up short in a 6-2 decision.
 
The Pointers will send wrestlers to the Don Parker Open on Saturday (Feb. 5) with action beginning at 9:00 a.m. It'll be the final tune-up for UWSP before next week's WIAC Championships on Feb. 12.
