ST. PETERS, Minn. – The UW-Stevens Point swimming and diving team won eight events at the Gustavus Adolphus/Minnesota State Mankato Tri-Dual. The men fell by four points to GAC, finishing 160-156. The women won against GAC 175-144, but fell to MSU 247-66.  

Results

On the men's side, both Owen Miller (Mequon, Wis./Mequon) and Gus Grimstad (Decorah, Iowa/Decorah) won two events each. Miller won the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 57.78 and the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 21.55.  

Grimstad won the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 1:58.66 and the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 1:58.75.  

Jacob Larsen (Albany, Wis./Oregon) won the 100-yard butterfly, clocking a time of 52.85. Ryan Trantham (Mackinaw, Ill./Deer Creek Mackinaw) also won the 400-yard IM with a time of 4:29.05.  

The relay team of Larsen, Miller, Grimstad and Jacob Biscan (Edina, Minn./Edina) topped the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:34.00.  

Evan Plummer (Eau Claire, Wis./Memorial) won the three-meter dive with a score of 265.75. He also placed second in the one-meter dive with a score of 209.35.  

The relay team of Biscan, Larsen, Miller and Will Lennertz (Muskego, Wis./Franklin) finished second place in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:25.50.  

Caiden Kuehn (Eagan, Minn./Eagan) finished in second place in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:47.45 and the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 49.33.  

On the women's side, the relay team of Joy Vandenberg (Black Creek, Wis./Appleton North), Rose Hansen (Grand Rapids, Minn./Grand Rapids), Kyler Ernst (Fountain City, Wis./Luther) and Brooke Buck (Wausau, Wis./AZBA Academy) finished second with a time of 1:40.45 in the 200-yard freestyle relay. 

Vandenberg finished in second place in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:00.56 and third in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 25.33.  

Tiana Cachuela (Oakdale, Minn./Park) took second in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:21.05.  

Paige Anderson (Forest Lake, Minn./Forest Lake Area) placed second in the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 11:33.78.  

The 200-yard medley relay of Kasey Fris (New Lenox, Ill./Lincoln Way West), Carolyn Powell (Olney, Ill./Richland County), Vandenberg and Hansen finished third place with a time of 1:52.92.  

 

The Pointers will take on UW-Whitewater in a home dual on Nov. 19. The meet is set to start at 1:00 p.m.
