LA CROSSE, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point swimming and diving team had a successful conference dual against UW-La Crosse with
Anna Pilecky (DeForest, Wis./DeForest) setting a pool record and the men winning the dual 201 to 89. The women finished with a score of 119 to UWL's 180.
Results
For the women, Pilecky set the pool record at UWL in the 1000-yard freestyle with a winning time of 10:37.92. Pilecky also won the 500-yard freestyle, clocking a time of 5:16.90.
Claire Neuberger (Libertyville, Ill./Libertyville) won the one-meter dive with a score of 233 and the three-meter dive with a score of 224.80.
Kasey Fris (New Lenox, Ill./Lincoln Way West) won the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:11.41. Fris also finished second in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:19.84 and in the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:18.50.
Brooke Buck (Wausau, Wis. /AZBA Academy) placed second in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:01.46.
In the 50-yard freestyle,
Joy Vandenberg (Black Creek, Wis./Appleton North) finished in second place with a time of 25.18. Vandenberg also finished second in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:01.48.
Carolyn Powell (Olney, Ill./Richland County) took second place in the 100-yard breaststroke, clocking a time of 1:12.27. Powell also finished second in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:37.06.
In the 200-yard medley relay the team of Fris, Powell, Vandenberg and
Julia DeGroot (Kimberly, Wis./Kimberly) took second place with a time of 1:51.84.
The team of DeGroot, Vandenberg,
Kyra Goedken (Green Bay, Wis./Ashwaubenon) and
Haley Dees (Normal, Ill./West) finished second with a time of 1:41.42.
On the men's side,
Alec Jeffers (Green Bay, Wis./Bay Port) topped the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 53:43. Jeffers also won the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 1:58.32.
Sam Young (Verona, Wis./Middleton) won the 200-yard breaststroke, clocking a time of 2:10.61. Young also finished first in the 200-yard IM with a time of 1:57.76.
Evan Plummer (Eau Claire, Wis./Memorial) won both the one-meter and the three-meter dives with scores of 244.10 and 273.60, respectively.
Ryan Trantham (Mackinaw, Ill./Deer Creek Mackinaw) won the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:04.12. Trantham also placed second in the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 10:12.61
William Buhler (Racine, Wis./William Horlick) took first in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 58.31.
Caiden Kuehn (Eagan, Minn./Eagan) topped the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4:56.88.
Jacob Larsen (Albany, Wis./Oregon) took first place in the 100-yard butterfly, clocking a time of 52.31.
The relay team of Larsen, Buhler,
Gus Grimstad (Decorah, Iowa/Decorah) and
Owen Miller (Mequon, Wis./Mequon) won the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:35.31.
In the 200-yard freestyle relay, the team of
Cooper Porzondek (Chippewa Falls, Wis./Chippewa Falls), Larsen,
Owen Powell (Olney, Ill./Richland County) and Miller won with a time of 1:26.74.
Miller took second in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 47.42.
In the 200-yard freestyle,
Jacob Biscan (Edina, Minn./Edina) took second place with a time of 1:48.17.
Porzondek finished second in the 50-yard freestyle, clocking a time of 22.50.
The Pointers close out the regular season on Saturday (Feb. 5) at Milwaukee. UWSP's dual against the Panthers starts at 1:00 p.m.
