STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point track and field team faced its first outside competition of the 2022 season by hosting the WIAC Tri.  The Pointer men and women finished in third place with scores of 41 and 37, respectively.
 
Results
 
On the men's side, Ian Lillquist (New Prague, Minn./New Prague) was the sole Pointer who nabbed a first-place finish.  Lilliquist competed in the triple jump where he triple stepped to a distance of 13.81 meters (45' 3").
 
Michael Kluz (Oconomowoc, Wis./Oconomowoc) competed in the one-mile run where he ran a time of 4:25.64, which was good for a third-place finish. 
 
Tyler Santi (Kenosha, Wis./Tremper), Tyler Vincetich (Beloit, Wis./Janesville Parker), Brad Brewer (Slinger, Wis./Slinger) and Conor McCoy (/) teamed up for the 4x400-meter relay.  The group ran a time of 3:37.65, which was good for a third-place finish.
 
Cade Ravenscroft (Wisconsin Dells, Wis./Wisconsin Dells) nabbed a pair of third-place finish in the high jump and long jump.  His jumps were 1.95 meters and 6.59 meters, respectively.
 
On the women's side, Esme Reinders (Eau Claire, Wis./Regis) won the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:02.36.
 
Leyna Herzog (Appleton, Wis./Fox Valley Lutheran) ran a time of 8.00 in the 60-meter dash, which was good for a second-place finish. 
 
Abby Nelson (Iron River, Wis./Northwestern) nabbed a second-place finish in the pole vault, where she finished with a height of 3.40 meters. 
 
Brilyn Brecka (Alma, Wis./Alma) finished second in the shot put with a distance of 12.65 meters.
 
Rachel Krouse (Milwaukee, Wis./Wauwatosa West) finished third in the one-mile run with a time of 5:17.19.
 
The Pointers travel to Whitewater for a weekend meet hosted by UW-Whitewater.   The first meet is schedule to begin Friday, Jan. 28 at 5:00 PM, and then on Saturday Jan. 29 at 12:00 PM.
