The UW-Stevens Point swimming and diving team won eight events at the Gustavus Adolphus/ Minnesota Mankato Dual on Saturday. The men's team scored 161 points to defeat Gustavus in a dual. The women's team finished in third place with a score of 219.
Results
Sam Young (Verona, Wis./Middleton) finished in first place in both the 200-yard breaststroke and the 400-yard IM with times of 2:11.79 and 4:16.48 respectively.
Jacob Larsen (Albany, Wis./Oregon) won the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 52.47. Larsen also placed second in the 200-yard freestyle, clocking a time of 1:47.56.
Owen Miller (Mequon, Wis./Mequon) placed first in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 59.01. Miller placed second in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 21.72.
Kody Hellenbrand (Madison, Wis./East) took first place in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 1:58.51.
The team of Larsen, William Buhler (Racine, Wis./William Horlick), Gus Grimstad (Decorah, Iowa/Decorah) and Miller finished first in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:35.12.
On the women's side, Anna Pilecky (DeForest, Wis./DeForest) won both the 1000-yard freestyle and the 500-yard freestyle, clocking times of 10:41.69 and 5:15.76 respectively.
Tiana Cachuela (Oakdale, Minn./Park) finished second in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:23.76.
Kasey Fris (New Lenoz, Ill./Lincoln Way West) placed second in the 400-yard IM with a time of 4:57.64.
Julia DeGroot (Kimberly, Wis./Kimberly) took third place in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 25.40.
On November 20th, the Pointers will head to UW-Whitewater for their first conference meet.
