BROWN DEER, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point swimming and diving competed in the second day of the WIAC Championships (presented by Culver's) Friday, winning a total of seven events. The men's team widened its lead to 139 with 634 points and the women's team is in fourth with 360 points.

Day One Recap
The relay team of
Jacob Larsen (Albany, Wis./Oregon),
William Buhler (Racine, Wis./William Horlick),
Jacob Aegerter (Cross Plains, Wis./Middleton) and
Payton Kilian (Coon Rapids, Minn./Spring Lake Park) won the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:31.22. The margin of victory was 0.03 seconds.
Sam Young (Verona, Wis./Middleton) finished first in the 400-yard IM with a time of 4:00.91. His win was by more than three seconds.
Larsen, Aegerter and
Ryan McPherson (Inver Grove Heights, Minn./Tartan) took the top three spots in the 100-yard butterfly, respectively. Their times were 49.57, 49.82 and 49.91.
Kilian and
Will Lennertz (Muskego, Wis./Franklin) placed first and second in the 200-yard freestyle with times of 1:41.86 and 1:42.85, respectively.
Alec Jeffers (Green Bay, Wis./Bay Port) won the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 51.04. Larsen followed in third with a time of 51.68.
The relay team of Kilian, Lennertz, Young and Aegerter won the 800-yard freestyle relay with a time of 6:51.77.
Buhler placed finished second in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 55.71.
For the women,
Anna Pilecky (DeForest, Wis./DeForest) won the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:55.50.
The relay team of
Kaylee Benson (Elk River, Minn./Elk River),
Maddie Taylor (Rockford, Ill./East),
Kyra Goedken (Green Bay, Wis./Ashwaubenon) and
Maggie Liska (North St. Paul, Minn./Mahtomedi) finished third in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:48.83.
The relay team of Liska,
Haley Dees (Normal, Ill./West),
Sydney Richetto (Wausau, Wis./East) and Pilecky finished third in the 800-yard freestyle relay with a time of 7:51.91.
The Pointers will compete in the last day of the WIAC Championships Saturday (Feb. 15). The preliminary rounds start at 10:00 a.m.
